Dr. Bill Aydin at Aydin Plastic Surgery performs platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy injections for his patients in Paramus, NJ and White Plains, NY. He is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, who uses inovative PRP injections to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten and tone the skin, promote the production of collagen, and improve volume loss. Using your own blood platelets, you do not run the risk of having an allergic reaction or side effects from the treatment. PRP can also be combined with other rejuvenation treatments for enhanced results. After microneedling the skin, the prepared PRP serum is applied in the fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, cheeks, and eyes to brighten the face and create a younger-looking appearance.

Treatment Technique

First, your own blood will be drawn so that it can be spun in a special centrifuge until the stem cells, platelets, and growth factors are concentrated. This will turn it into platelet rich plasma (PRP). Then, an aesthetic technician will numb your face with a topical anesthetic. The prepared PRP is put into a syringe to be applied to your skin after microneedling creates micro-channels for better absorption. The PRP will rejuvenate the skin overtime by stimulating the growth of new collagen and tissue.

During/After Treatment

After your PRP treatment session, you can expect you face to be swollen, red, and tender to the touch. Be patient with your PRP and microneedling sites as you will begin to see improvements in 3 – 4 weeks as the skin heals itself. Your results should last between 6 – 18 months depending on the severity of your skin's condition.

Can I Combine Treatments?

Yes. You can achieve amazing results by combining your PRP therapy with one of our other treatments. You may have heard of a "vampire facelift," which your PRP therapy implemented in tandem with a microneedling session. How does this help? When you have microneedling performed on your face, it assists the PRP serum to go deeper into your skin. There are many combinations of treatments that go well with our PRP therapy. We can discuss this with you at your skin analysis appointment.

Is There Down Time?

You may experience some swelling and redness from the treatment, but you should not have to miss work. The PRP therapy should not interfere with your daily routine, but you may want to avoid strenuous exercise until you feel up to it.
